Emerald (पन्ना)

The harmonious-green colored gemstone Emerald, also known as Pachu or Panna, belongs to the Beryl mineral family. Astrologically, it represents the mild-natured prince of all planets, Buddha (Mercury). As the name indicates, Buddha is the endower of intelligence (buddhi) and is the wisest of all worlds. Wearing a green emerald enhances personal intellect and propels growth through sound education and good communication.

Benefits

Enhanced Understanding

Better Communicator

Overall Well-Being

According to Indian astrology, an Emerald works best for Mithun (Gemini) and Kanya (Virgo) rashis. Western astrology attributes it to May, which corresponds with the zodiac sign Taurus.
Emerald intensifies the cold cosmic energies of the princely planet of Mercury. It is ideal for those in educational fields, public relations, communications, and publishing.

Weight: Typically, the gemstone size should be approximately 1/10th of your body weight, which means 1 carat for every 10 kgs. Alternatively, it can be according to the strength required as per your horoscope or as advised by your astrologer.

Quality: For the best astrological results, all-natural emeralds are ideal.

Metal: Silver is most suitable as per our knowledge and expertise.

Finger: The little finger of the left hand for women and the right hand for men is our recommendation.

Day: Wednesday.

Time: Morning at 7.15 am/8.15 am/9.15 am

Mantra: Om BudhayaNamah or Om BudhhaDevtayaNamah.

Upratna: Peridot, Green Tourmaline, and other natural green gems.

According to Indian mythology, Budhha is the child of Chandra (Moon), and Tara (Star), the wife of Brihaspati (Jupiter). Essentially, it symbolizes that intellect is born from the union of the heart and mind. Also representing Lord Narayana, Buddha is called Vishnu Rupi or Dev, and its gemstone, emerald bestows wisdom, wealth, and clarity of thoughts to the wearer.

A well-placed Mercury awakens the path of education, fortune, and respectability. It encourages one to be well-read, a good orator, and a natural leader. It also enhances wit and language skills.

On the other hand, an ill-placed Mercury bends towards difficulty in comprehension, speech and hearing impediments, communication problems, and lack of focus making the individual appear slow.

Emerald(Panna) transmits a cosmic green color. These cold color waves relate to the earth element and can benefit the wearer in the following manner.

Education: Mercury governs intelligence and hence wearing a green emerald helps improve grasping abilities, understanding, and retention skills. It helps to be well learned and respectable in your personal and professional arenas.

Wisdom: It helps enhance the overall knowledge and influences the correct way of thinking. It enables better perspectives and good decision making.

Communication: It facilitates the power of speech and understanding and makes for effortless conversations, thereby, healthier relationships.

Fortune: It enables the wearer to be intuitive about various matters, thereby granting him fortune's favor in apt life and career choices.

Skills: It helps in being a multi-tasker, multilingual, quick learner, adaptable, and talented in chosen fields.

Well Being: Green is a dark color and influences the heavy parts of the body like the flesh, liver, kidney, and intestines. An emerald strengthens the nervous system and awards better overall health.

The best variety of Emerald is from Zambia, Colombia, Ethiopia, and Russia. They come in all verdant green shades, light to dark. Their value depends on the 4 Cs, the Cut, Colour, Clarity and Caratage, the place of origin, and treatment.

Cut - The cut of a gemstone gives it face value. The better the facets of a gem, the more valuable it is.

Colour – Deep colored emeralds are preferred and cost more than lighter colored emeralds.

Clarity – Visible two-phase and three-phase inclusions like fissures, crystal cavities, bubbles, or fingerprints form a part of the gemological DNA. Emeralds without any inclusions are rare to find and hence, are expensive. The clearer the gemstone, the higher the value.

Caratage – An Emerald with the best cut, color, and clarity is challenging to find in higher caratage and hence precious. So, a two-carat gemstone would be one fourth the price of a four-carat in the same quality. Due to the easy availability of smaller sizes than the bigger ones, the more the carat weight, the higher the stone's cost considering other C’s as well.

Place of Origin – The finest emeralds come from Zambia, Colombia, Ethiopia, and Russia.

Maintenance – Emeralds are generally kept in soft oil as they dry quickly and develop cracks easily since they come from blasting mines.

On wearing an emerald, the body heat offers protection just like an oil layer. Oiling can also be done for additional care and to increase the gem's longevity.

Certification – We are stringent with our quality standards and assure you of the best gemstones. Our Emeralds come with a Private Lab Certificate. We can also provide a higher lab certificate like the GII or IGI at extra cost if required. Some of our gemstones are readily certified from both, GII (Gemological institute of India)  or IGI (International Gemological Institute)

According to all international gem laboratories, the certification often mentions oil enhancement, though it is not considered a treatment anymore.

Please beware of the Beryl stone that is often peddled as an Emerald to unsuspecting buyers due to its similarities as a member of the same mineral family.

Do note that the lab will certify both emeralds' types as 'Natural Emeralds' only in the title. However, in the remarks or comments section, they will mention the variety. E.g in the case of beryl comments section cites 'Indication of Beryl or indication of dye', it is not a natural emerald but the Beryl stone.
