Colour – The better the purity, luster, and whiteness of the White Sapphire, the higher the cost.

Clarity– White sapphires without any inclusions are rare to find and hence, are expensive. The clearer the gemstone, the higher the value.Visible inclusions like fine silk threads, fingerprints, or color bands that scatter the light form a part of the gemological DNA.

Caratage - A White sapphire with the best cut, color, and clarity is challenging to find in higher caratage and hence precious. So, a two-carat gemstone would be one fourth the price of a four-carat in the same quality. Due to the easy availability of smaller sizes compared to bigger ones, the more the carat weight, the higher the cost of the stone. 

Place of Origin – The best white sapphires referred for astrological purposes come from Sri Lanka, Burma, and Australia. 

Treatment – There are two types of white sapphires available in the market. The non-heated and non treated white sapphires are considered suitable for astrological purposes. However, the mildly heated white sapphires enhanced for their color are also good enough.

E.g., if the comments section cites 'No indication of thermal enhancement' or is blank, it means the gemstone is unheated and untreated. If it cites 'Indication of thermal enhancement', then the gem is heated.
